What happened
Google announced Credentio, an open-source C++ library for C2PA Content Credentials, on August 13. It validates media files locally within developer apps, supporting C2PA spec versions 2.2 and 2.4.
Why it matters
Credentio eliminates the need to send media to cloud servers, cutting latency, bandwidth costs, and privacy risks. Already powering nearly 40 Google products at tens of billions of assets, its small memory footprint suits edge and resource-constrained environments.
